How I Work

If you’ve never been to therapy before, I know that taking that first step and reaching out can be a daunting task. For this reason, I aim to support you as best I can in taking this step forward.

Many people find it helpful to have an initial discussion either in person or over the phone to see if we would be a good fit to work together. If we agree to take the next step we will arrange your first session and agree a time to meet, this is normally weekly. I can support you in exploring what might be concerning you in a way that feels safe to you. I will listen carefully whilst acknowledging that there are no easy answers. Together, we can explore what those answers might be by leaning into your emotions, understanding your values, finding meaning and recognising patterns that may no longer serve you, and the ones that do. 

I am a relational practitioner, meaning that I recognise the value of understanding yourself from the perspective of your past, your present or both. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor of good therapeutic outcomes and as such the relationship that we build can help us to navigate your experiences together.

It might be difficult to believe that talking therapy could work. My experience, both personally and professionally has shown that when people are offered a space in which to openly explore their concerns with compassion and safety they can find profound comfort and healing in this. Talking through your experiences is often the first step towards making them more manageable. Having someone who truly listens join you in a real and in-depth conversation in this way can provide unique insights that help you to develop your self awareness and understanding of yourself. 

Giving yourself this space and time to be heard can help you to feel valued, think more clearly, strengthen your sense of self and find more fulfilment in your life.

    Sessions are usually the same time weekly and will last 50 minutes
