Finding the right therapist for you is an important part of the process and it may be helpful to learn a bit about me before deciding if I am the right person for you. I am also happy to speak to you over the phone before you book an appointment to answer any questions you might have.

My name is Sophie Bell and I am a registered BACP Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I was trained at Leeds Beckett University in Relational and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Before training as a therapist I travelled to some wonderful parts of the world, worked in hospitality and eventually worked in a corporate environment. These experiences help me to understand and empathise with a range of people facing a range of different life issues. I am passionate about understanding, embracing and celebrating diversity and different cultures. I have a particular passion for supporting LGBTQ+, ADHD and neurodiverse communities.

I was born and raised in Yorkshire but I have called Leeds my home for over a decade. I earned my undergraduate degree in English and Film Studies at Leeds Trinity University. I have always loved spending time by, in or around water whenever I’m in need of a bit of self-care. Meditation and mindfulness are also a pillar in my routine.

My approach to therapy incorporates a lot of my experiences in life, ultimately I offer a human to human relationship that is focused on supporting you. As your therapist it is my responsibility to provide you with the right conditions and explore the options available to you to find the best way forward together. My role includes holding a non-pathologising and non-judgemental perspective that can help you to make sense of your experiences, strengthen your sense of self and find new ways of being in the world.
